Pushing the button sends an emergency signal to trains in the vicinity, causing driv-ers to apply their brakes to make an emergency stop.We have installed se-curity buttons and in-tercoms on platforms and in toilet areas, so that passengers can notify station staff or security guards when they need assistance, such as when they have spotted a suspi-cious object or person in the station, when they feel unwell, or in the event of any other problem (using these buttons will not stop trains). By the end of FY2019, we had installed either plat-form doors or fixed platform barriers equipped with sensors on platforms at all stations on Tokyu lines.* This is making a substantial contribution to improving platform safety and ensuring the stable operation of services. The number of falls from platforms has de-creased considerably as a result of the installation of platform doors and barriers.Rate of stations with platform doors and number of falls from platformsEmergency stop button and signSecurity buttonIntercom and sign1008142102018201910010010010010 6 2020202120222023(Fiscal year)We operate our railway business through Tokyu Railways and other subsidiaries.
