The company has operated New Chitose Airport since June 2020, Asahikawa Airport since October 2020, and Wakkanai, Kushiro, Hakodate, Obihiro, and Memanbetsu airports since March 2021. As with Sendai International Airport, this arrange-ment enables airport management operations previously handled separately by the national government, prefec-tural government, local government bodies, and quasi- public corporations to be integrated under one operator. The contract runs for 30 years and may be extended to a maximum of 35 years. We will contribute to regional revitalization and spreading the word about Hokkaido’s appeal, with the aim of creating a multi-tourism gateway that attracts tourists from around the world and sends visitors to all areas of Hokkaido. In November 2020, Hiroshima International Airport Co., Ltd. was established by a consortium of 16 companies in-cluding Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd., Tokyu Corporation, The Hiroshima Bank, Ltd., and Hiroshima Electric Railway Co., Ltd., and has operated Hiroshima Airport since July 2021. The contract runs for 30 years and may be extended to a maximum of 35 years. We will strive to build an air net-work without parallel in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions, providing impressive experiences that exceed passenger expectations on every journey, and creating and captur-ing both inbound and outbound demand for tourism and business travel alike. In doing so, we seek to become the No.1 gateway consistently driving the sustainable growth of the Chugoku and Shikoku regions. Established by seven companies (Tokyu Corporation; Maeda Co., Ltd.; Toyota Tsusho Corporation; Tokyu Land Corporation; Tokyu Agency Inc; Tokyu Construction Co., Ltd.; and Tokyu Community Corp.) in July 2016, the Sendai International Airport Co., Ltd. operates Sendai Airport. This was the first example of outsourcing the operation of a nationally administered airport to the private sector, bringing functions previously conducted separately by the national government, local govern-ments and quasi-public corporations under a single operator (with the exception of air-traffic control). The business is long-term, scheduled for 30 years with the possibility of extension to as long as 60 years. We are engaged in a variety of stimulation measures—including making airport access more convenient by expanding the aviation network and secondary transportation; expanding commercial shops that serve as a showcase for Tohoku brands; and supporting the export of agricul-tural, forestry and fishery products—as we aim to be the airport chosen first by the people of Tohoku.Tokyu Corporation has been operating Shizuoka Airport with Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. since the airport’s pri-vatization in April 2019. As the designated manager ap-pointed by the airport administrator, Shizuoka Prefecture, the operating entity, Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport Co., Ltd., had previously been responsible for basic maintenance and management of the runway and other parts of the airport. However, after acquiring the right to run all airport operations, both companies invested in Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport Co., Ltd., enabling integrated management of the entire airport business. The contract runs for 20 years and may be extended to a maximum of 40 years. The consortium’s goal is to double passenger numbers and create a regional landmark airport as a driving force for Shizuoka Prefecture’s economy and communities.17
