We have installed fall alarms under platforms, so station or train staff are alerted if the sensor detects that a passenger has fallen off the platform. We are also implementing the Project to Prevent Falling into the Gap for the Chil-dren, aimed at ensuring that not only parents and guardians, but also children themselves are aware of the gap between the carriage and the platform when boarding or alighting from trains. In May 2019, we began installing crowd detection systems at some stations to prevent falls resulting from buildups of passen-gers near escalators. The system determines the extent of crowd buildups by analyzing footage from cameras inside the station. The alarm is raised by a flashing light once a crowd builds up, alerting station staff and thereby increas-ing passenger safety. We have installed station security cameras on plat-forms and at ticket gates, ticket machines, and ticket In July 2020, we completed the installation of camer-as in all carriages owned by Tokyu Railways (exclud-ing the Kodomonokuni Line), to prevent terrorism, crime, and other problems on trains, and gain an accurate understanding of the situation in each car-riage.Congestion monitoring areaPredictive monitoring areaCrowd detection support systemPlatform gap fillerExample of security cameras installed inside the trainoffices to prevent crime and enable staff to check the situation in each part of the station.Station staff and security guards routinely make reg-ular patrols of the station to keep it secure and en-sure that there are no suspicious objects or defects in the facilities that could endanger passengers. We are also revising security systems in response to passenger usage. At all underground stations, we have secured at least two escape routes and installed emergency power supply facilities to clear smoke from platform levels in the event of a fire, in accordance with Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism standards. The power required for our trains to run is supplied to our substations by two electric power company trans-mission lines, ensuring that if one line experiences an outage, the other can maintain the supply of electricity. Additionally, a number of substations are located along each railway line, so even if one substation suffers a complete failure, the next one along the line will contin-ue to power our network. Carriages on Tokyu lines are fitted with batteries to ensure that onboard emergency lighting and announcements continue to function, even if a power outage causes the train to stop in an under-ground section of the network. At underground stations, we have installed emergency generators in case of power outages and have ensured that they are equipped with the neces-sary disaster preparedness functions, such as station announcement equipment and emergency lighting, including in the tunnels.Station security5Platform and Station Safety MeasuresOnboard Safety Measures
