The number of falls from platforms has de-creased considerably as a result of the installation of platform doors and barriers.*Excluding the Setagaya Line and Kodomonokuni Line.Rate of stations with platform doors and number of falls from platformsNumber of falls from platforms (total)Rate of stations with platform doors (total)8169694220172018100100100100102019202020212022(Fiscal year)(%)10080604020We have installed emergency stop buttons on the platforms at 83 Tokyu line stations to prevent accidents (excluding the Meguro Line and also the Setagaya Line). Pushing the button sends an emergency signal to trains in the vicinity, causing driv-ers to apply their brakes to make an emergency stop.We have installed se-curity buttons and in-tercoms on platforms and in toilet areas, so that passengers can notify station staff or security guards when they need assistance, such as when they have spotted a suspi-cious object or person in the station, when they feel unwell, or in the event of any other problem (using these buttons will not stop trains).
