Izu naviAutonomous mobility pilot trialDrone use on the Izu Peninsula’s east coastCommercialization of InfraDoctor for Railway and AirportAutonomous vehicleBased on findings from three pilot trials of the Izuko tourism-type MaaS initiative since 2019, Tokyu, JR East, and Izukyu Corporation launched Izu navi in November 2022 as an open-ended ongoing service aimed at revitalizing the Izu region through co-cre-ation initiatives in partnership with the community. Izu navi is a digital service offering users information about Izu’s diverse attractions, including tourism facil-ities and restaurants, details relevant to workation and business travelers, handy discount tickets for public transport, information about cycle rental and other modes of transport, and maps show-ing bus stops near the user’s destination. We aim to continue to work with local governments and local transport and tourism operators to further develop this service, while contributing to the revitaliza-tion of the Izu region.Mobility needs are becoming more diverse as the population ages, along with such factors as changes in lifestyles and ways of working since the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the transport and logis-tics sector is forecast to see escalating driver short-ages and an aging driver workforce. Since 2020, we have been verifying new tech- nologies and services that combine autonomous driving with remote monitoring, as one solution to these social issues, and have also been participating in Shizuoka Prefecture’s Shizuoka Autonomous Driv-ing ShowCASE Project since FY2021. Additionally, in September 2022 and March 2023, we implemented pilot trials of an autonomous driving mobility service in the Tama Den-en-toshi area served by Tokyu Rail-Illustration of the LINE account screenSigning ceremony for the cooperation agreementways. We are continuing to verify these services with the aim that, by having a single remote monitoring operator manage multiple autonomous vehicles, we will in future be able to bring to fruition not only com-munity transport services centered on conventional local buses, but also new mobility services that help to resolve social issues. On March 25, 2021, 10 private sector organizations, including three Tokyu Group companies (Tokyu Corporation, Tokyu Techno System Co., Ltd., and Izukyu Holdings Co., Ltd.), signed the Cooperation Agreement on Promoting Regional Revitalization via Drone Use with four municipalities located on the east coast of Shizuoka Prefecture’s Izu Peninsula (Ito City, Higashiizu Town, Kawazu Town, and Shimoda City). Through activities within this framework, we aim not only to attract tourists and provide disaster prepared-ness and response measures for the Izu region, but also to create a robotics industry, thereby boosting the non-resident population of the Izu Peninsula’s east coast and contributing to its regional revitalization. InfraDoctor® is a road maintenance and management system that combines 3D point group data obtained from laser scanning with a geographic information system (GIS), thereby facilitating the early detection of abnormalities and the creation of 3D structural drawings. We are currently developing the system for application to railways and airports, enabling the ef-ficiency of structure inspections to be increased and qualitative improve-ments in testing to be achieved. InfraDoctor for Rail-way is being put to commercial use in tunnel inspections in FY2020.Mobile mapping system17Transportation Infrastructure Business
