■■ System for Fostering Entrepreneurial EmployeesNewWorkThis membership-based shared satel-lite office business was the first busi-ness to be created under the SK System. It began operating commercially in May 2016, aimed at provid-ing a flexible working environment tailored to the in-creasingly diverse ways of working that have resulted from advances in ICT environments and the growing prevalence of mobile computers and smartphones. (See p. 24 for de-tails)Cash-Out ServiceThis service, which was launched in May 2019 as the third SK System initiative, enables users to withdraw money from their bank accounts via ticket machines*1 at stations on the Tokyu lines. Users designate the sum to be withdrawn via a Yokohama Bank or Japan Post Bank smartphone app and then hold the QR code*2 displayed up to the reader on the ticket ma-chine to withdraw the money from their bank account. This is the first service in Japan to enable users to withdraw money from their bank account via a station ticket machine and means that pas-sengers using Tokyu lines can quickly withdraw cash without needing to detour to an ATM.Guided by the mission “Tokyu makes the next 100 years,” Future Design Lab is striving to generate innovation that will transform society and customers’ lives. Looking back, our history over the last 100 years has been one of continuous innovation. We have consistently deliv-ered new value to society in everything from urban development, as typified by the Josei-nan Area Development Prospec-tus that set out our vision for the new town now known as Tama Den-en-toshi, to culture and lifestyle, leading examples of which include our overseas business expansion based on our Pacific Rim concept and our 3C’s strategy*.Future Design Lab has taken up the challenge of creating new value through all kinds of initiatives, in order to ensure that this DNA is passed on through the next 100 years. *Credit cards, cable television, cultureSystem for Fostering Entrepreneurial Employees (SK System)Tokyu 2050 ProjectTokyu Accelerate ProgramWe founded this system in April 2015 to support employees with the ambition and ability to create businesses, and to culti-vate a challenge-friendly corporate culture through the founding of new businesses. This system enables all employees, regard-less of age, seniority, or department, to propose new businesses and be involved in bringing their ideas to fruition as project leaders. As well as kindling the frontier spirit among employees, revitalizing the Tokyu Group and promoting sustainable growth, this system will create new customer value. In 2019, when Japan moved from the Heisei into the Reiwa era with the accession of the new Em-peror, we launched the Tokyu 2050 Project, which is focused on the future 30 years hence. This pro-ject aims to bring together all Tokyu employees—frontline staff, middle management, and execu-tives alike—to develop “A City Adored by People around the World”, our visions for 2050, and take on the challenge of bringing that shift to fruition. More specifically, we will promote organizational change toward the future through workshops to draw up a vision, a lab member system (in-house side job system), a business plan contest, the Tokyu Future Summit, and innovation community media operation among others. We launched this system in FY2015 to encourage industrial regeneration and revive the Japanese economy by pro-viding assistance for startups. By using the Tokyu Group’s re-sources to test startups’ hypotheses concerning services and products, we aim to build an innovation ecosystem that will support the sustainable growth of startups centered on Shibuya, and create new value that will increase the convenience of life in the Tokyu area.
