Railway Network ExpansionDirect operation between the To-yoko and Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin LinesThe direct operation between the To-yoko and Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line started on March 16, 2013.As a result, the To-yoko Line, the Minatomirai Line, the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, Tobu Tojo Line, and the Seibu Yurakucho-Ikebukuro Line are now connected as one route via Shibuya offering even shorter commuting times and convenient service. The direct operation has also greatly improved access to central Tokyo, allowing for travel to Shinjuku and Ikebukuro area without transferring trains, making the commute to school and work much more convenient. In addition, in March 2017 we also began S-Train service offering (fee-based) reservation-only seating for more pleasant and comfortable travel in the direction of Seibu Chichibu.Sotetsu-Tokyu Direct LineWe are making progress with the plan to build a new connection to span the 10km or so between Hiyoshi Station and Nishiya Station on the Sotetsu Main Line, thereby enabling through trains to operate between Sagami Railway and Tokyu lines. The new rail link is scheduled to begin operating in late FY2022, with the section between Hiyoshi Station and Shin-Yokohama Station (tentative name) set to be called the Tokyu Shin-yokohama Line and the section between Shin-Yokohama Station (tentative name) and Nishiya Station to be known as the Sotetsu Shin-yokohama Line. This connecting line will be built and owned by the Japan Railway Construction, Transport, and Technology Agency (JRTT), and operated by Sagami Railway (“Sotetsu”) and Tokyu Corporation. Through service between the Sotetsu and Tokyu Lines will utilize both this connecting line and part of another connecting line being built separately by JRTT and Sotetsu (the Sotetsu-JR Direct Line). Construction of these connecting lines will provide a direct link between central Kanagawa Prefecture, western Yokohama City, and central Tokyo, forming a wide-area railway network in the metropolitan area and improving access between Tokyu lines and Shinkansen lines (through Shin-Yokohama Station). The operations will reduce travel times and transfers, enabling passengers to reach their destinations in greater comfort.March 16, 2013Direct operation starts between the Tōyoko andTokyo Metro Fukutoshin LinesFY2022(latter half)Direct operation betweenSōtetsu Line and Tokyu Linesscheduled to startTokyu Shin-Yokohama LineSōtetsu Shin-Yokohama Line(Other Line)Minatomirai LineTōyoko LineMeguro LineDen-en-toshi LineŌimachi LineIkegami LineTōkyū Tamagawa LineKodomonokuni LineSetagaya LineJR Line and other Lines Tokyu Shin-Yokohama LineSōtetsu Shin-Yokohama LineNNew Airport LineNamboku LineToei Mita LineEbisuTokyo Metro Fukutoshin LineTobu Tojo LineSeibu Yurakucho-Ikebukuro LinesOgawamachiKawagoeEbinaNakayamaShōnandaiHazawa yokohama-kokudaiShin-Yokohama(tentative)Shin-Tsunashima(tentative)Futako-tamagawaAzaminoFutamata-gawaSōtetsu LineJiyūgaokaDen-en-chōfuTamagawaMizonokuchiKodomonokuniNagatsutaChūō-rinkanTokorozawaHannōNishiyaMotomachi-ChūkagaiYokohamaHiyoshiWakōshiIkebukuroHanzomon LineNaka-meguroŌimachiHatanodaiMusashi-kosugiKikunaKamataKeikyū KamataHaneda AirportHibiya LineGotandaMeguroShirokane-takanawaŌokayamaShinjukuShinjuku-sanchomeSangen-jayaNerimaKotake-mukaiharaMinatomirai LineTōyoko Line Shimo-takaidoShibuyaYokohama Municipal Subway Blue LineJR Central Tokaido ShinkansenSotetsu-Tokyu direct Line to Shin-Yokohama station (provisional name)Northern Entrance Pedestrian DeckTowards Hiyoshi Towards NishiyaArchitectural rendering of the Sotetsu-Tokyu direct Line to Shin-Yokohama station (provisional name)28
