■ Railway Business
Tokyu lines are composed of 8 lines covering a total distance of 104.9 kilometers. Those include 7 lines, such as the Toyoko Line that links the two urban centers of Shibuya and Yokohama, and the Den-en-Toshi Line that is a major artery providing access to central Tokyo, as well as the Setagaya Line, which is a streetcar line.
Tokyu Corporation became the first private rail company (not including Tokyo Metro) to carry more than 1 billion passengers in fiscal 2006, transporting approximately 1,062,590,000 passengers in fiscal 2010.
■ Urban Development Business
Urban development is one of our core business fields alongside our railway business, and we strive to create all-embracing, attractive living environments comprising houses, apartments, buildings and commercial facilities. Tokyu Tama Den-en Toshi is the landmark symbol of this concept. This total regional development project has been in place for more than 50 years since it was first conceived. It occupies a total area of approximately 5,000 hectares, and a population of about 600,000 lives and works there. It is the largest privately built town in Japan.
■ Life Service Business
We will improve the life value of people living in Tokyu's rail service areas by providing services that enhance security, convenience, and comfort.Working hand-in-hand with group companies, we will fulfill the role of keeping Tokyu's rail service areas "The Rail Service Areas of Choice" through projects including the development of department stores and supermarkets that propose a renewed life value like our ShinQs project, the new commercial complex opened inside Shibuya Hikarie. Our other services and projects include child-raising support; support for the enjoyment of health, hobbies, and leisure; as well as maintaining and providing information infrastructure such as Wi-Fi services at train stations.
■ Hotel and Resort Business
Starting with The Capitol Hotel Tokyu and The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel, the Tokyu Hotels chain has developed five brands and 46 hotels to fit a wide variety of needs including business and resorts. The Mauna Lani Resort operates a hotel, golf courses, a spa, and other facilities on extensive property that spreads across approximately 3,200 acres on Hawaii's Kohala Coast. We also manage other hotel and resort businesses domestically and overseas through our subsidiaries. These include the member's only resort "Big Week", where we facilitate time-sharing of vacation homes, as well as development of six golf courses domestically.
